On the evening of Sunday, March 18, 2007, I attended a fashion show that was presented by Will-C Productions, it was his 10th year Anniversary. The name of the show was called Sex in the City 3 and was located at the CFE Center in Forestville, Maryland. This fashion show was an extravaganza that lasted four hours, it truly was not to be missed. There was so much entertainment in this event that an entire night could go by before I could inform you of what happened. You really had to be there for this fashion show; my friend Will really showed his skills.
This was my first time ever going to a fashion show that Will directed and created. I was not familiar with the venue but upon entering it seemed to be constructed like a warehouse or hall to actually hold events like Will C’s fashion show. I was seated in VIP, which I envisioned to be different, but I was able to enjoy the show. A perk of this section was the supply of spirits and light refreshments. The ambiance of the venue gave that entertainment feel if that makes sense. There were so many scenes that expressed love, sex, edginess, inspiration, commitment, fantasies and real life situations. There were over a dozen designers that were featured in the fashion show.
The show was hosted by Tink Cole of the TNT Event Center in Temple Hills, he was very entertaining throughout the show. The show consisted of models from Maryland, DC, Seattle, North Carolina and even Illinois. The expected time for the show to start was 6:30 pm. It didn’t start until 6:45 pm which was quite alright, even though a show should start on time. I was anxious for the show to start because I just knew that it was going to be off the hook.
The opening of the show consisted of “The Sexy Ingredients of Will-C Productions”. The models were airbrushed with different designs and creative illusions, it was nicely done. As stated before, there were so many scenes and designers so I’m not going to mention everyone. I’ll discuss the particularly captivating moments, not saying the ones that I don’t mention weren’t entertaining.
The scene “Freak-o-bot” was rather cute and featured Justin Timberlake’s song, “Future Sex/ Love Sounds”. The models walked out like robots, hit the beginning of the runway and started modeling and then went back into the robot movements. Wow, the scenes “Eat Me Out” and “Hit It From The Brokeback” were rather edgy and had some heavy sexual content. I think the name of the scenes actually speaks for themselves. There was a male exotic dancer in the first half of the show that really did his thing. He was very creative and performed some very acrobatic moves that were mind blowing. I would go into other details but I don’t think that would be necessary. Again I say you just had to be there.
Moving on to the second half of the show, it began with a scene called “Pleasure You Can Feel”. You then saw my boy Will lip sync to Tank’s, “Slowly” as the models gave a graceful walk on the runway. OMG the name of this next scene I cannot even mention because it’s rather, how can I say this, NASTY. This scene consisted of crochet swimsuits which gave it a sexy illusion. Now here comes the controversial scene which was called “Who’s Your B&$*#?”. I’m sure it hit home for some of the audience members as it was performed to the song of, “What About That” by Janet Jackson. It was basically about a female being abused and raped by her male partner, but by the end of the scene the female got herself together and beat the hell out of her male partner. That scene was definitely something to talk about.
“One Red Rose” was a very cute, sexy and lovable scene. The music was “You” by Raheem Devaughn, it definitely got you in the mood to find love and/or be in love. The models walked out with a rose and then threw them in the audience when they got to the end of the runway. The designer for this scene was Carl Trogdon, his line is Alek Rismnic Couture and he’s right out of Baltimore. “Touch Therapy” was another very hot, sexy and edgy scene. The designer for this scene showcased crochet garments which gave a sensual feel. “Tease” was a creative scene as models came out blindfolded; a very alternative and edgy feel. I was just hoping that the models wouldn’t fall off the stage. There was a female exotic dancer by the name of Allure who really showed her talent and creative flavor. It was wonderful treat for the fellas that were in the audience.
Sex in the City 3 was definitely a show that I have never seen or been involved in before. It was good to see a show that had so much versatility and creative drive that just kept the audience wanting more. Most of the models were on point. You had some who didn’t belong in the show but for the most part it balanced out. There was so much entertainment that the show could have been scheduled for two days. So for anyone who has never been to or seen a fashion show you need to check one out, it’s truly an experience that you will never forget.
