What my mother means to me

A mother is comfort, safety, love, a rock; a stabilizing force.
All my life I have had the pleasure to say that my mom has been by my side through the good and “the bad” times. She taught me the majority of life’s lessons which I try to keep close to my heart. Without a doubt, she shaped me into the man I am today through example and through her quiet reservation. Showing me how to stay dedicated and focused, while still making time for myself as life goes on and experiences happen. She always gave me room to grow, and test the waters, while remaining nearby waiting with the safety net.
She showed me the importance of family and how much of an impact they have in one’s development. Your core, your foundation, may not determine who you will ultimately be, but it plays a factor and acts as a source of influence. My wonderful mother is a sign of my wonderful grandmother and my terrific family.
My mother is love, security and motivation. My mother represents a bond which goes beyond blood; an unconditional love. A love which exists no matter what. Even now she keeps me centered whether by a joke, a dance to an oldie but goody or with a simple "what's wrong?". And there is not an ache in the world that can stand a chance against her smile and a plate of food, all of my friends can attest to that.
Mom, thanks for putting up with me all these years, I know it hasn't been easy and I appreciate you so much. May you have all of your heart's desires. Happy Mother's Day!
