My Favorite Summer Vacation

My favorite vacation was the summer I spent in Pensacola, Florida. It was the first time that my husband and I spent more than three weeks together since we started dating. He, being in the Navy, lived in Virginia until we got married when he immediately went to Pensacola. I lived in Maryland.
We woke up extremely early in the morning every work day. Before going into work, he dropped me off at the entertainment center by the shoreline and I would sit out and watch the sun rise, read, write, or watch movies on my portable DVD player. This is where I read the entire first volume of The Oz Chronicles by Frank L. Baum as well as where I began writing my second novel. And I just sat by the ocean, sometimes walking through the sand, and thought about my life or just talked to God.
Once the center opened, I spent time on the internet, played video games, watched movies, and got to know Ms. Dee, the lady who ran the center. When my husband got off from work, he came to the center to get me and we spent the rest of the day just relaxing or finding things to do. There were a couple of bar-b-que’s we went to and we even went to the beach.
It was a special time that I will always cherish.
