During awards season, everyone’s favorite celebrities venture out to be rewarded for their accolades in the previous year. For the film & television industry, the actors attend the Golden Globes & Oscars (Academy Awards), hoping to receive the highest honors. And in the music world, the most honorable reward is the Grammy. The celebrities only have one thing in mind & that is to win the prize. In contrast, the general public views the shows to see one thing—what the stars are wearing!

 

If you tune in to the shows primarily to see what Angelina Jolie is wearing, then maybe you should spend a day on YouTube watching the designer’s collection on the runway.

 

The day after the award show, it is revealed who the winners are. But, entertainment shows such as “Access Hollywood”, “Entertainment Tonight”, & “Inside Edition” focus on the styles & brands worn by the stars themselves. For eXample, correspondent Joan Rivers interviews the celebrities on the red carpet & will compliment them in their faces, just to bash them a day later on her show, “Fashion Police”. It is an entertaining commentary show, but when D-list celebrities who don’t have any sense of style bash A-list celebrities for the gowns & tuxedos they chose to wear on the carpet, they ought to have a seat & zip their lips. They spend the entire hour throwing slurs & offensive words around, without once mentioning any of the awards won.

Who cares if Mo’Nique didn’t shave her legs for the Golden Globes or if Lady Gaga arrives to the Grammys dressed in barbed wire wrapped around her entire body! They’ve earned the right to do so, since they’ve been rewarded for their hard work & passion for their respective fields. Many people tend to lose sight of the main focus, and viewers want to see their favorite artists/actors/actresses win the award they are nominated for. If you tune in to the shows primarily to see what Angelina Jolie is wearing, then maybe you should spend a day on YouTube watching the designer’s collection on the runway.
