Mix and Mingle IV
Written by: Natalie K. Pinkney
So, another year is here and all the holiday parties are over… Now what? Maybe some of you were like me and didn’t spend as much time as you wanted entertaining friends and family. Maybe some of you spent a little too much time entertaining and just want a break from all the people, drinks, and food. Whatever your issue is, a new year is upon us and a welcome time for change is here.
This year, Mix and Mingle will touch on all aspects of party planning, social events, and, as always, special cocktails for you to try at home.
My goal for this year, as far as entertaining, is to make a set calendar of all the parties and holiday entertaining I want to do. This will not only keep me organized and on track, but also prevent busting the budget. With career, kids, weekend activities, and other obligations, it’s easy to get caught up in the “hustle and bustle” of everyday life. You can’t forget to take a little time out for you, whether it is a sexy date night at home with your significant other, a backyard family cookout, or an all-out birthday bash for your best bud.

Mix and Mingle will return next month with an extra special column for Valentine’s Day. But, for now, here are two drinks to keep you cozy for the winter months.
Featured Libations:
Creamy Cocoa
2 teaspoons Nestle Chocolate Mix
1 cup of milk
1 oz Baileys (any flavor, I prefer the Caramel)
Heat milk until warm, do NOT boil! Stir in Chocolate Mix until dissolved. Add Baileys and Enjoy!
Hot Toddy- great for helping with winter sniffles
1 Tbsp of Honey
2 ounces of Brandy or Whiskey
Freshly brewed Tea
Slice of Lemon
Mix all ingredients and enjoy!
