A new year for me, a new year for you

As we come to the end of another year I find myself trying to write about my upcoming plans for '07. This year brought lots of new change, as they all do, but I can't say it was a fast time. At what point does life start to speed on by as our folks always say? I'm certainly not in a rush to find out. I’d rather take my time and enjoy all those random, crazy events which make us shake our head and ask, "why me?"

Each approaching year I hope that I will better myself in some way, however small. This may seem trivial but how easy is it for us to look back on December 31st and get a sense of déjà vu? So, what do I hope to have experienced in 2007? Going off the basics, I want to be better in my job than I am today. By that I mean I want to renew that excitement and motivation we all get on those initial days. When everything is so new and your brain is trying to soak up all the information that it can. It’s the little things like seeing your desk for the first time. Checking the phone to make sure it still works; does everyone do that? As well as making a note of your fellow attractive coworkers. I want to jump out of the bed each morning due to a new work day and not because of my alarm clock and the deadly snooze button.

Beyond that I want to say that I've loved, even if I've lost. I make this second Ravolution if nothing more than to try something different. It can be extremely easy to maintain and become accustomed to the norm. We’re all here to challenge, to try new things aren’t we? I'm definitely use to being single, gives you a certain amount of freedom and lack of responsibility. You have plenty of time to walk around in the boxers, watch a movie, stare at the wall ... or sit by the computer for the 6th hour. But who knows what I might be missing. So here’s to getting outside of the box in 2007, come join me.

Happy New Year!
