Thoughts on the
Past Year

When this all began I must admit I had no idea what I was getting into. Editing
a few articles and design some web pages; what’s so hard about that? It didn’t
take long after the first few meetings to realize just how much of an effort I
would have to make. It is one thing to plan out the activities but it’s another
matter altogether when it comes to carrying them out. I tip my hat to all the
teachers of the world and to anyone who has ever put together a syllabus.
The entire process has been a learning experience though. From organizing and
monitoring all the articles and pictures to learning how to interact with people
for work or advertisement, there has been opportunity for growth. You never know
how a situation will turn out until you try so I do my best to spread my wings
every now and again. There have been a few stumbles along the way but there has
been a lot more creativity and sudden inspiration. We must be doing something
right!
I have also met some great people, each with their own gifts and strengths. It
has been so wonderful to see other young individuals with drive and passion
using their talents to enlighten and educate others. With each issue there are
at least two articles from which I learn something new and I’m entertained in
the process. As someone not inclined to pickup and read a magazine, that says a
lot.
Now we are heading into our second year and I am looking forward to what new
adventures lay ahead. The Fashion issue seemed to get a lot of attention, as did
the Unity issue, so I am hopeful we can continue to get even better. Since
there’s always room for improvement, if anyone reading this has an idea or tip,
please feel free to send an email.
