Talk about time flying! eXcapethematriX.com is one year old. Now, I’m not sure if the time has flown by based upon the old “having fun” phrase. Uh…I distinctly remember a few moments when I was absolutely not having fun. Nonetheless, here I am, with the new title of “West Coast Editor.” Excuse me? *big wide-eyed blank stare…and crickets*
I have learned an abundance of things since joining the ETM family. The interesting thing about learning is that it just never ends. Not even when you want it to and often when you least expect it. Truth be told, being a journalist for ETM has somewhat changed me and forced me to be honest about some particulars. I’ve certainly had to broaden my perspective about life in general, as well as with some specific subjects.
“Truth be told, being a journalist for ETM has somewhat changed me…”
Some moments have been filled with ease and pure joy. Interviewing singer/songwriter Rahbi (whose raw talent blows my mind) was one of those moments. Another one was watching Thomas Warren, Jr. (who WILL be blowin’ up) singing at his first L.A. show to an audience that was taken to another place.
More than anything, I’ve enjoyed getting to know the
staff. Believe me when I say that if laughter is good for the soul, mine has
often been dizzily out of control at times.
My new motto for ETM has become “ONWARD!” No matter what, onward it will be. Regardless of how many writers drop off, deadlines are missed, close calls are met or late night meetings go down (until folks fall out), we move onward.
We’re here. So free your mind. Move onward.
